Within four years of beginning to use drugs, the addicts said their habit started spiralling out of control. Many of them did not seek help to kick the habit until their mid-20s and 64% of them ended up in prison. The survey uncovered a link between bad behaviour in lessons and drug use, with more than half of addicts having been suspended or expelled from school.
