musings of a mother and artist. explorations in craft...currently making plush toys. today i have been amazed at my kids (screamed at them and laughed with them), cried over a book , tried in vain to clean the house, eaten crackers with vegemite for lunch, felt frustration about unfinished projects, and elation about a great photograph. |

Hummingbird’s Music Mill programme consists of various musical workshops, such as Guitar, Cavaquinho and Percussion, taught as an initiation into musical training.One of the objectives of these instrumental workshops is to develop a musical environment where young people have the possibility to recognise their capabilities and to cultivate ideas towards the formation of musical groups with much diversity, combining other activities at Hummingbird, such as dance, theatre, Capoeira and Hip-Hop. One such group is being developed through our percussion workshops. Our Banda Beija-Flor with its 20 integrants is already a most sought after youth percussion group in our region, participating in numerous public and private events in the municipality and in the city of São Paulo. |
